This wooden suspension bridge was built about 1932 by Mr Willis of Avenel. Its purpose was to provide access across Hughes Creek to Mr Willis's property, the Glenavis Estate. The bridge is located six kms. down the Tarcomb Road just to the right side of Avenel. Although the bridge has been described by the people of Avenel as a "brilliant piece of bush engineering" it is in an advanced state of decay and dangerous to cross.
